inspired by some great photographers on social media, i decided to try my first double exposures, shooting with black and white film. the first step was of course gathering information on how to do that :-) realizing then, that with my canon f1 it would be a little bit more difficult to manage the film, i started with my walzflex.
the second step was to motivate someone to model for me - since double exposures with people in it look way more interesting. so landscape photographer thomas helped me out (check out his homepage: https://www.lonelylandscape.com) - thanks again ;-)
the third step was to just try it out! i used illford hp5, one of my favorite films. i diligently wrote down the exposures times during the shoot - what my lightmeter indicated and what settings i then chose. at the beginning i wasn't sure if i calculated the exposure time correctly (double? half? same or different for both exposures? am i doing this right?). sometimes i am a bit slow with math...
after developing the negatives at home and scanning them, i was (surprisingly) happy with the results! here are my top three:

this one is my favorite. the wooden stripes are from the front of a house. the portrait made in front of the cloudy sky.
for my first try, i was really surprised how good it turned out!

this one also seems really cool, as if it's just the reflection in the water of the lake and not a double exposure.
regarding the chosen shutter speed: i really don't know why i chose them like this, probably just experimenting what effect it would have :-)

this one is ok i think. i realized, that i have to plan the positioning of the two different images better - where they should overlap, what the backgrounds of both exposures look like and so on. but the creative possibilities are really exciting! so im looking forward to more double exposures!
